 Dr. Sal Lotardo,DDS
I guess you can say I'm a Long Islander through and through. I grew up in Hauppauge, then graduated from SUNY Stony Brook with a BS degree in Chemistry. I then went on to attend the Stony Brook School of Dental Medicine and finished up with a residency at Northport VA Medical Center.
So the familiar surroundings of Nesconset seemed a perfect place to start my private practice career. I must admit that starting a practice from "scratch" was a major challenge even with the support of friends and family at the onset. Eventually the word got out that my staff and I prided ourselves on exceptional patient service and the highest quality of dental care.
I really feel our practice evolved with the times and technology. Rather than just jumping on any gimmick that came along, we carefully evaluated technologies and new techniques to enhance our patients health care experience and cosmetic options. In addition to investing in the best for our patients (digital xrays - less radiation, laser surgery - fast healing, ZOOM whitening - one day bleaching...), I have accumulated over 200 hundred hours of continuing education in the last 4 years. I enjoy learning and trying to master the many disciplines encompassing general dentistry. With the zest for furthering my knowledge and clinical abilities I have expanded my interest toward implants and orthodontics. I know that this broad base in education will enable me to help you make the best choices for your dental care needs.
Obviously I enjoy what I do, but my personal life with my wife Melissa, who is a hygienist at our office, two sons Luke and Lennon and daughter Stella, make it all worthwhile. And yes Lennon is named after John of the Beatles. When you come into my office and see my shrine to the Beatles you'll get the idea.
If you are visiting the site to see if our practice is right for you I hope these words express what we are about and encourage you to come by the office.. If you are a current patient just looking for information I hope the site is useful, and of course all suggestions are welcome.
